Bottled at 43.2% ABV, the whisky was matured in casks that previously held wine and the resulting blend was an outcome of the experiments administered by the blender Aimée Gibson to uncover a palette of incredible new flavors. Next on the list is the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Rum Cask Finish. With the intent of creating a relaxed and easy going Scotch, blender Chris Clark experimented with the blends to create a whisky with smooth and spicy flavors. He finished the whisky in casks that previously held Caribbean pot still rum to develop a Scotch tingling with layers of exotic fruits, sweetness and a little spice. The Rum Cask is bottled at 40.8% ABV.
And finally, a rich Scotch blend for all the coffee lovers out there. The Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast is the result of an experiment led by blender Aimée Gibson, which involved distilling whiskies with barley roasted more heavily than ever before.

The resulting malt with incredibly rich, dark chocolate notes was then balanced with other whiskies matured in rejuvenated casks to add a light spiciness. The first fill Bourbon casks thus ensured a subtle vanilla sweetness to the blended whisky.
And the consequence was the Johnnie Walker Blenders’ Batch Espresso Roast, a rich Scotch blend, with a deep notes of rich coffee and dark chocolate that works brilliantly served neat in an espresso cup. The whisky comes bottled at 40.8% ABV.
While many would love to enjoy the new limited edition whisky blends neat or on the rocks with whisky chilled chilled over a little ice, there are many others who would want to bring these intense flavors to life with specialty cocktails.
