Military Jacket Trend Fall 2016: A Trend That Ruled The Runway

Military Jacket Trend Was Seen Making A Come Back In The Fall/Winter 2016 Collections Of Some Of The Illustrious Fashion Labels.

Where bomber jackets were one of the Fall Fashion Trends 2016 – 2017 showcased by multiple high – end fashion labels, the military jacket trend was the one that came in a big way.

Remember Slyvester Stallone as John Rambo in the 1982 blockbuster film Rambo: First Blood?

Well, who doesn’t for the way he pulled off John Rambo in the movie and for his choice of the over-sized military field coat – the M-65 by Alpha industries.

That was in 1980’s. The influence of the army jackets on fashion, however, goes back to at least 1960’s when Yves Saint Laurent rolled out the Saharienne Jacket in 1969.

Well, less can be said of what awakened the designing instincts of the creators behind these massive fashion houses.

But brands such as Gucci, Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli and many others made their muses fit into army military utility jackets that were paired with silk pants, jeans, party dresses and much more.

Need some more evidence as to what makes military fashion trend take over Fall/Winter 2016?

You’ll love them for the epaulettes that sit on the shoulders, rope trims, brass buttons with few modern day embellishments like bows and crystals.

Check out our favorite military jackets from some of the elite fashion houses.
