After A Brief Teaser Showing Just A Few Glimpses Of The New Episode In The Epic Space Opera, The New Trailer Of The Star Wars: The Last Jedi Is Finally Here
Finally, the full trailer for the Star Wars: The Last Jedi was released on Monday night that has a lot for the epic space opera fans to take in. A brief teaser for the most awaited sequel to the Star Wars: The Force Awakens was debuted by Lucasfilm during the Star Wars Celebration in the month of April this year.
The short teaser just showcased Luke Skywalker training Rey on planet Ahch-To, a planet covered in water, with numerous rocky islands and green trees and home of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker where Rey came searching for Luke. Luke went into exile on Ahch-To seeking the first Jedi temple that was one of the many temples built throughout the galaxy and one out of the few that was not demolished by the Galactic Empire.
It was here that Luke Skywalker’s apprentice and nephew Ben Solo turned to the dark side of the Force and killed his Jedi students. The teaser depicts Rey training on Ahch-To and ends with Luke’s message full of apprehension: “It’s time for the Jedi to end.”
The new trailer has much more for the star wars freaks to latch onto as it expands on the connection between Rey and Kylo Ren who first met in Star Wars: The Force Awakens thereby attempting to provoke the fans in anticipation of how the characters turn out to be in The Last Jedi.

As the trailer commences, the Supreme Leader of the First Order, Snoke, is observed to be speaking in the backdrop saying that years ago he first came across a unique person who was full of talent and untamed power. While Snoke proclaims all this, the camera is focused on Kylo Ren. But when Snoke pronounces that beyond that talent and power, that unique someone also had “something truly special”, the entire focus of camera changes to Rey holding the lightsaber.
While this does not certainly mean that Snoke is talking to Rey, but the whole remark does set into motion the entire theme of the trailer that revolves around Kylo Ren and Rey sharing a special bond in The Last Jedi. It is certain to think in that direction as both the Star Wars characters are talented in their own way and have innate powers. While the Force Awakens showcases the extreme power of Kylo Ren, the new trailer for The Last Jedi focuses on unveiling the immense power of Rey.
As the trailer proceeds, it displays Luke Skywalker training Rey on the rocky islands of Ahch-To and getting bewildered by her potentialities. While observing her immense talent, he is seen as referring to someone from the past whom he knew had similar powers like Rey and all this terrifies him.
In reference to the above, Skywalker is observed saying “I’ve seen this raw strength only once before. It didn’t scare me enough then. It does now.”
While Skywalker talks about the powers of this special someone from the past, the trailer showcases Kylo Ren and hence bringing the connection between Kylo Ren and Rey to the forefront once again. But on the other hand, it is seen further in the trailer that Snoke causes harm to Rey while her body is impounded in mid-air. As he inflicts pain to her body he is heard saying “fulfill your destiny”.
Again, there is a point of contention here: whether Snoke is speaking to Rey or to someone else just like the opening scene in the trailer.
As the trailer traverses towards the final piece, one gets all the more provoked as Rey is found in the backdrop saying “I need someone to show me my place in all this” and then suddenly the camera focuses on her. Once she puts forth her intent, the camera switches to Kylo Ren with his hand outstretched. This creates all the more confusion between their bonding in the Last Jedi.
The entire theme of the trailer keeps us in dark with regards to the relationship that conspires between Rey and Kylo Ren. All that we know is that both the characters would get all the more apprised with their powers in The Last Jedi. The battle involving Kylo Ren is going to be all the more fierce, though this time around it is unclear who is going to be on the other side.
The Last Jedi is the eighth piece in the main Star Wars saga series, set just after 2015’s The Force Awakens. And the movie hits the theatrical screens on December 15, 2017.
